Nobody can raise the rent on something you own.
What we charge for, what we never will, and the story behind both.
In 2015 I started building on Bubble. My first test was an Uber-style app, built in a few weeks, just to see how far a no-code tool could go. It went further than I expected.
That November, Bubble changed its pricing, and I wrote to them about it. One line from that email:
I kept building. In 2016 we became one of Bubble’s first certified agencies, and for years we built our clients’ apps on it.
Then Bubble raised the rent. In June 2023, one of our apps got this:
The overage bills came after. It was a reminder of whose apps they really were.
So we built the opposite. You pay for the work. Every limit is printed. The app is yours to take. Nobody can raise the rent on something you own.
Pay for the work. Never for a meter.
Every build and change is billed in real dollars, on a receipt you can read. No credits, ever. Or lock one fixed price before we build: never a dollar over the quote, and your money back if it doesn’t work.
One operation counts as one. Nothing weighted.
A page served, a record read, a record saved: each counts once. No hidden formula decides what your app “really” used.
Every limit is printed. Before you reach it.
The Free plan includes 250,000 operations a month. Live and Pro are unlimited, with the fair-use line printed next to the price. Any change comes with 30 days’ notice.
A limit never takes your app offline.
When a free app reaches its limit, pages, sign-in and sales keep running. Only saves and automations pause until the 1st. Stop paying and your files and data stay. Nothing is deleted over money.
Our cut gets smaller as you grow.
Payments land in your own Stripe account. Our fee is printed on every plan: 1% on Free, then 0.75%, 0.5% and 0.25%.
You can leave any day. So we have to earn every month.
Export your code and your data whenever you want, on every plan. If we ever cost more than the trouble of leaving, you’ll leave. That’s our price cap, and it’s built in.
Build something nobody can rent back to you.
Plan it free. See your plan and the full price before you spend a dollar.
