How does scoring work? What makes a name a "standout"?

Every name is graded on four fixed factors that add up to one score from 0 to 100. A name is a Standout at 91 or above.

Every name is graded on the same four factors, with the same fixed weights, every time. Together they make one score from 0 to 100. A name is a Standout at 91 and above, Strong from 80 to 90, and Below Bar under 80.

  1. Fit to your brief (30%): how closely the name matches the business you described.
  2. Commercial strength (30%): what a name like this is worth in the real market.
  3. Upside (20%): room for it to grow in value beyond what you pay to own it.
  4. Brand clarity (20%): how easily people say it, spell it and remember it.
Good to know

91 is hard to reach on purpose, and most names never get there. You see one score per name, not a grade for each factor. The weights are the same for every brief and every industry.
