You can request account deletion from Settings — your account enters a grace period before it is permanently removed, so you have time to change your mind.
Deleting your account is not instant. Submitting the request starts a grace period: your account is soft-disabled after 7 days and permanently purged after 30 days from the request date. You can cancel any time before purging begins — once purging starts, recovery is no longer possible.
- Log in to your account.
- Go to account Settings.
- Find the Delete Account (or Close Account) option.
- Type the confirmation phrase exactly as shown — DELETE MY ACCOUNT — in all caps. It is case-sensitive and must match exactly.
- Submit the request. You will be signed out of all sessions immediately.
- Check the email address on your account for a confirmation message. It contains a cancel link you can use without logging back in.
- Changed your mind? Click the cancel link in that email, or log back in and cancel through Settings, before the deadline shown in the confirmation message.
- If you do nothing, your account is disabled at day 7 and permanently deleted at day 30.
The confirmation email is sent right away, but email delivery is not guaranteed — if it does not arrive, you can still log back in and cancel through Settings during the grace period. Also note that while a deletion is armed, email changes are frozen, so the cancel link always goes to the address that was on file when you submitted the request.
