How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from Settings — your account enters a grace period before it is permanently removed, so you have time to change your mind.

Deleting your account is not instant. Submitting the request starts a grace period: your account is soft-disabled after 7 days and permanently purged after 30 days from the request date. You can cancel any time before purging begins — once purging starts, recovery is no longer possible.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to account Settings.
  3. Find the Delete Account (or Close Account) option.
  4. Type the confirmation phrase exactly as shown — DELETE MY ACCOUNT — in all caps. It is case-sensitive and must match exactly.
  5. Submit the request. You will be signed out of all sessions immediately.
  6. Check the email address on your account for a confirmation message. It contains a cancel link you can use without logging back in.
  7. Changed your mind? Click the cancel link in that email, or log back in and cancel through Settings, before the deadline shown in the confirmation message.
  8. If you do nothing, your account is disabled at day 7 and permanently deleted at day 30.
★ GOOD TO KNOW

The confirmation email is sent right away, but email delivery is not guaranteed — if it does not arrive, you can still log back in and cancel through Settings during the grace period. Also note that while a deletion is armed, email changes are frozen, so the cancel link always goes to the address that was on file when you submitted the request.
