Booked by the day, never twice.
Customers pick the item, the day and how long, then pay a deposit at your price. Once a day is booked, that item is gone for that day, and every pickup and return sits on one calendar.
It starts from“A rental booking site for my kayaks where customers pick a kayak, a date and a half day, full day or weekend at set prices, a kayak can’t be booked twice for the same day, they upload a photo of their id that only I can see, pay a set deposit by card, I get an email with every booking, and my admin has a calendar of pickups and returns with a returned button.”

What comes working in an equipment rental app?
Out the door, back on the rack.
The counter work that eats a Saturday morning is handled from the first version, with your shop’s name on it.

Prices by rental length
Half day, full day, weekend: each length has its own fixed price for each item, set by you.
- ✓ Comes working02
No double bookings
Each item has its own days. Once a day is booked it shows taken, even if two people try for it at the same moment.
- ✓ Comes working03
Open days, on the page
Customers see which days each item is still free before they pick, so fewer of them call to ask.

A deposit at booking
Take a fixed deposit by card when they book, into your own Stripe, and settle the rest at pickup the way you do now.
- ✓ Comes working05
ID or waiver upload, private to you
Customers add a photo of their ID or a signed waiver with the booking. It stays private to your Admin.

Pickups and returns on a calendar
Every booking lands on a calendar in your Admin by pickup day, and one click marks the item returned.
- ✓ Comes working07
An email with every booking
You get the item, the day and the length the moment it’s booked, and the customer gets a confirmation.
What renters see, and what goes out.
Renters pick an item, a day and a length, add their ID and pay the deposit. You see the day’s pickups and returns on one calendar.
How does a rental shop earn more from the same gear?
More days out, fewer phone calls.
Rental money is made in booked days. A kayak that sits on the rack on a sunny Saturday because the phone went to voicemail is a day you don’t get back. A page that shows what’s free and takes a deposit fills those days while you’re out with a group.
The deposit changes who books. Someone with $20 already down comes to collect, and a booking that never turns up still leaves part of the day paid for.

- A clean handoverThe ID is on file before they arrive.
How should you price rentals by length?
Half day, full day, weekend.
Three lengths cover most rental counters. Price the half day at a bit more than half the full day, so the full day looks like the better deal, and the weekend at less than two full days to reward the longer booking. Each length is one fixed price per item, so a customer knows the number before paying.
No GPS tracking of rented gear, and prices are set per rental length rather than worked out day by day.
