Tutor marketplace

Every subject, a tutor you vetted.

Tutors apply with their credentials and you approve them. Parents search by subject and grade, book a session and pay the tutor directly, and each session time can only be booked once.

It starts from“A tutor marketplace where tutors apply with credential uploads only I can see, I approve them, and they connect Stripe to get paid; tutors list subjects, grades and open session times; parents search by subject and grade, book a time at one of my rate tiers and pay the tutor directly; a time can only be booked once, and parents see their own bookings.”

What comes working in a tutor marketplace app?

Vetted, listed, and booked.

Applications, vetting, search, booking and payouts come working in the first version, in your name and your colors.

  • ✓ Comes working01

    Tutors apply, you vet

Applicants upload their certificates and clearances, and only you can open them. A tutor shows on the site once you approve them in your Admin.

  • ✓ Comes working02

    Paid into the tutor’s Stripe

Each tutor connects their own Stripe in a guided sign-up, and a parent’s payment goes to them directly. Our fee is 1% or less.

  • ✓ Comes working03

    Search by subject and grade

Parents filter by subject, grade level and in person or online, then sort what comes back.

  • ✓ Comes working04

    A session time books once

Tutors post their open times. When a parent takes one it’s gone, even if two parents reach for it at the same moment.

  • ✓ Comes working05

    Rate tiers you set

Thirty minutes, an hour, a longer exam-prep session: each at a fixed price you choose, so parents compare like with like.

  • ✓ Comes working06

    Parents see their own bookings

A parent signs in to see every session they’ve booked, and only theirs, with a confirmation in their inbox for each one.

  • ✓ Comes working07

    Your commission, on a statement

Each tutor gets an itemized weekly or monthly statement, net of refunds, and your commission is charged a few days after it.

See it working

What parents book, and what you vet.

Parents pick a subject, a grade and a time, then pay. You see applicants waiting, their uploads, and every booked session in your Admin.

How does a tutor marketplace make money?

Parents pay tutors, you earn the match.

Parents will pay well for a tutor they trust, and most of them don’t know where to look. A tutor marketplace sells that trust: you vet who gets listed, and every session booked through your site earns your commission.

The tutor is paid by the parent at booking, into their own Stripe. Your commission arrives on a weekly or monthly statement, net of any refunds, so a family’s money never sits with you.

  • Vetting is the productParents choose your site because you checked the tutors.
  • Repeat sessionsA parent who finds a good tutor books the same hour again.
  • Narrow winsOne subject in one school district beats every subject everywhere.

Where should a tutor marketplace start?

Pick the subject parents worry about.

Start where the worry is: high school math, reading in the early grades, or prep before the big exams. A short list of well-vetted tutors in one subject fills faster than a long list of strangers in every subject, and it makes your rate tiers easy to set.

What it won’t do

It doesn’t host video lessons or chat, and session prices come from the rate tiers you set.

Questions

Tutor marketplaces,
answered.

Can each tutor set their own hours?Yes, their own times
Yes. A tutor signs in and posts the times they’re free, and can only ever change their own. What each session costs still comes from the rate tiers you set, so a parent comparing two tutors compares like with like.
How do I vet tutors before they’re listed? You approve each one
Applicants upload their certificates and clearances, and only you can open those files. A tutor appears on the site once you approve them in your Admin, and you can take them down the same way.
Can two parents book the same session time?No
No. A tutor’s open time is taken the moment a parent books it, even if two parents tap it at the same moment. The second one sees it’s gone and picks another.
Who gets paid, and when? The tutor, at booking
The parent pays when they book, and the money goes directly into the tutor’s own Stripe. Your commission is billed to tutors weekly or monthly on an itemized statement, net of refunds. Lynqly never holds the money, and our fee is 1% or less.
