Online courses

Teach it once, get paid monthly.

Students subscribe and open your lessons, each with your video embedded from your own video host. They tick off what they’ve finished, and you see who is keeping up.

It starts from“An online course site where students sign up and subscribe monthly, lessons sit behind the sign-in, each lesson page has my video embedded from my video host, subscribers mark lessons done and see their progress, a short quiz after each module gives them written feedback, they can upload their assignments, and I get an email for every new student.”

What comes working in an online course app?

Lessons in order, students on track.

A course site has three jobs: let the right people in, keep the lessons in order, and show students how far they’ve come. All three come working.

  • ✓ Comes working01

    Subscribe to open the course

A monthly or yearly price you set, billed by your own Stripe. Subscribers track their progress and take the quizzes, and when a subscription ends, those stop.

  • ✓ Comes working02

    Lessons behind the sign-in

Each lesson sits behind the students’ sign-in, in the order you set, grouped by module. A visitor sees the outline, not the lesson.

  • ✓ Comes working03

    Your videos, embedded

Keep each lesson’s video on your own video host and it plays inside the lesson page, next to your notes.

  • ✓ Comes working04

    Mark done, see progress

Students tick off each lesson and see how many they’ve finished. Their progress belongs to them alone.

  • ✓ Comes working05

    Quizzes with written feedback

A short quiz at the end of each module. The AI reads the answers and writes feedback in the tone you set, saved on the quiz and sent to the student by email.

  • ✓ Comes working06

    Assignments handed in

Students upload their work right on the lesson. Only they and you can open the file.

  • ✓ Comes working07

    Your students in Admin

Every new student emails you, and your Admin shows who joined and which lessons each student has finished.

See it working

The lesson they open, the class you watch.

A student opens the next lesson, watches, and marks it done. You see each student’s progress and every quiz answer in your Admin.

How does a course make money as a subscription?

Paid while they keep learning.

A one-time course sells once and then has to be launched again. A subscription keeps paying for as long as students keep learning, which suits a course you add to: a new module each month, a fresh worked example, a quiz on what changed.

It changes what you make, too. Instead of one giant course up front, you can open with the first two modules and keep building while the first students are already paying.

  • Open before it’s finishedStart with two modules and add one a month.
  • Progress you can seeSpot the lesson where students stop, and fix that one.
  • Your own StripeEach month’s payments land in your account.

What saves a course creator the most time?

Less marking, more teaching.

Quizzes are where the hours go. Let the AI read each answer and write the first round of feedback, then look over the answers it marked as needing you. You still decide what a good answer looks like; it does the first pass on every one.

What it won’t do

It doesn’t host or stream video itself (embed it from your video host), and access is a subscription rather than a one-time purchase.

Questions

Online courses,
answered.

Can students buy the course once instead of subscribing?Subscription only
Access is a subscription, monthly or yearly at the price you set. A one-time purchase that unlocks the course for good isn’t built yet. A yearly plan is the closest thing: one payment for the whole year.
Do you host my course videos?Your video host does
No. Upload each video to your own video host and it plays inside the lesson page. We don’t host or stream video, so you keep the video host you already use.
Can a student see another student’s progress?No
No. Progress, quiz answers and assignments belong to each student. Only that student and you can see them.
What happens when a student stops paying?Quizzes and progress stop
When the subscription ends in your Stripe, quizzes and progress tracking stop for that student. Their account and progress stay, so if they subscribe again, they pick up where they left off.

Two modules today, a course by spring.
